I just got some mild teriyaki to try and so my wife would try it as well since it's not overwhelmingly (or in this case, at all) spicy hot. I have to say, I'm disappointed. Thought it looked great, spent way too much money on it, and now I'm regretting the purchase. The first piece out of the bag seemed great, i tried it in the store. I was visiting Berlin, Ohio from Buffalo N.Y.. I bought a bag of Uncle Mike's Teriyaki Beef Jerky. When I got back to N.Y. I opened the bag to find white mold all over the Jerky. I paid 25.00 for this bag and I am very disappointed. I tried to email Uncle Mike's with the website on the back of the bag and I got a return message it could not be found. I cannot believe it's made locally fresh in Walnut Creek and get by with selling a moldy product. selling a moldy product.
Uncle Mikes is the best beef jerky! To everyone complaining about mold, it's common sense to refrigerate after opening. Not something to blame on the company. Any meat that doesnt mold after being exposed is packed full of preservatives and chemicals. I have always had top quality with every bag. I just finished one that was great!
I've bought uncle mike's beef jerky for years and have always enjoyed it until my last purchase. I drove 100 miles round trip to the normal farm market I have always bought it from just to get home and find out my two pounds bag was 50% mold. The entire top of the bag was covered in mold and couldn't see it through the clear window on the package. I emailed the company with zero response about the issue. First of all, the jerky may taste ok but it didn’t say to refrigerate after opening and when I bought it , it was not refrigerated. So I opened it, had a piece, a couple of days later, I wanted another piece, and the jerky was getting all moldy. I looked for an expiration date and could not find one. I called the company 4 times, left messages, no response. Would never buy again.
