This was, clearly, one of the highlights of our week in Holmes County. A very impressive gem, and to learn it was basically renovated and restored by volunteer teams is just remarkable. The grounds alone are stunning. You're given a brief description of the history of the house when you arrive, but it's a self-guided tour from that point. Maybe took us about 1.5 hours to go through this? My elderly parents, husband, and I really enjoyed this Victorian style museum... volunteers restored this and are running it still... so friendly and a unique experience! We enjoy touring old homes, mansions, and this was a very different experience as it didn't seem as polished; more like a true "here's how it was" and experience it in a more intimate, less formal way. Cool to see in the Holiday Season with all the lights and xmas trees all decoated up. Make sure read to history sheet that they give you when you first walk in, it tells alot. People were super nice, really enjoyed our visit. Would definitely go, so plan a visit after dinner. Better then a movie.

Absolutely gorgeous house and furnishings. So many interesting artifacts from the Victorian period. We went on a Saturday in October and had the house to ourselves.

Beautiful house, lovingly restored. Lots of interesting details both about the homeowners but also various occupations and professions that existed at the same time. Highly recommend going to the Glass museum next they sell combo tickets to both.
